Nowadays, surveillance has become part of our everyday lives. Experience video surveillance a most unexpected way by joining Paris artist Benjamin Gaulon for his “2.4Ghz”-walk: Using wireless commercial devices such as baby video monitors he hacks camera signals and displays them publicly on the device’s monitors in real time.
After a brief introduction you will split up in small groups and start searching for surveillance cameras. Where does monitoring take place? Who or what is being observed or controlled by “security cameras”? Later, we reconvene at a public café for exchanging our experiences and mapping the cameras‘ locations. The workshop will be held in English (basic knowledge is sufficient).
